What can I say? This magical creation made me cry and laugh and muse and… more significantly it made me remember the essential innocence, spirit and purpose of love. Love always presents a unique personal view; if allowed, it can expand perspective beyond mere imagination… Getting Life in Perspective jump starts memory, gives rebirth to hope and literally sings. It is an irreverent-reverent chant to love.

I was mesmerized and transported by Johnson's “Secret Matter,” a spirit-filled science fiction romance novel; “Getting Life in Perspective” didn't disappoint! Both novels whetted my appetite for more. Perspective is a book to be devoured in one day, impossible to put down. Buy a pound of good coffee or steep your favorite tea and get comfortable, because Getting Life in Perspective has it all.

Johnson offers a mythical Wild West adventure, coupled with information age Gay America and woven with a deeply touching story of hope, triumph, forgiveness, community, joy and a healing of the spirit. There's serendipity, synchronicity, historical and spiritual perspective, inspired and gifted imagination, and Eros! This is a thoroughly transporting read. Seeds of Johnson's most recent brilliant theological/spiritual volume Gay Spirituality are evident throughout.

Toby Johnson proves again and again that the spirit of the faun, the shaman, the satyr and the angel can be seamlessly incorporated into one life, and by intelligent choice. One of the strongest messages throughout Getting Life in Perspective, and found throughout Johnson's other writings, is that we all have absolute free choice in how we view, and therefore experience life… and moreover, none of us is in this great adventure alone.

I said this magical tale made me cry. I must be honest; it made me sob and made me laugh aloud in absolute delight. Yes, another gift from Toby Johnson. This one's a must.
