Do you believe in angels appearing to men in the 1990's? If not, suspend your disbelief long enough to hear an interesting tale.
Great gifts are being bestowed on humanity again, 2,000 years after the time of Christ, thanks to heavenly intervention. “Now is the time to make things clear so God's plan can happen,” says the angel.
Joseph Crane, a Vietnam veteran, first heard an unseen voice save his life as bombs were exploding on his aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam. Now later in life he is dumbfounded as a bright dot of intense light in his bedroom grows in size till it reveals an angel who wants to speak to him while his wife is sleeping in bed by his side. The angel, whose eyes are like those of a thousand lovers melted into one and whom he names Michael, appears to Joe many times between 1994-95 revealing messages giving a more correct understanding of what Christ taught while on earth. Churches, and even the original evangelist writers, sometimes skewed the message to suit their own purposes.
In particular, the angel goes through the Book of Revelation or Apocalypse from the New Testament and shows Joe the same visions John the Evangelist witnessed. He insists Joe write down what he saw and asks Joe to explain it, correcting him when the interpretation is wrong. He instructs Joe and his friend G.W. Hardin to publish it in a book and this is that book.
The angel also tells Joe to find and have a “gathering” of seven master souls. It takes Joe two years to gather the seven together and finally on August 1, 1997 the gathering is held in California with the angel present in their midst. G.W., the author, was one of the three gay persons, two male and one female, selected for this gathering as instructed by the angel Michael.
The angel teaches Joe other lessons such as there is no hell, no devil, no original sin, and no final judgment by God to fear, similar to lessons Neale Walsch has received in his Conversations with God books. He explains, among many other things, that gay men and women have the Father and the Son's name written on them and are spiritual teachers and healers. “As long as humankind has walked the earth, there have been people who are gay-perfect, whole, and complete just the way they are.”
“Sex is a gift from God for you to give to the one you love as your gift of affection. There is nothing bad or wrong about what gender you give this gift to.” Thus spoke the angel.
This book is eminently readable and superb in its design and layout. It is a help to those, like myself, who have often questioned the New Testament or the Church about certain issues. I personally found it so empowering as a gay man to know how valued I am by the spirit world. I sincerely believe the angel's message that mankind's journey on earth is a matter of going home to God; and that we are all One with God, sharers of His divinity. I shall daily recall the words of the angel Michael at the end of each visit which gives direction to my life: “Be at peace and teach only love.”
