Mary Gray conducts in-depth interviews with fifteen teens and constructs a narrative around their lives, personal backgrounds, and hopes for the future. The collection of stories offers insight into the daily lives and experiences of gay, lesbian, and bisexual youth. Researchers, interested parents, and educators learn more from these youth than the typical depression-filled, suicidal, victimized lives that many texts on gay youth portray. Although this text includes those themes, this collection of stories offers a more holistic, positive, varied, and even triumphant look into the lives of sexual minority youth.
