Tarot cards have long been misunderstood. “The Cosmic Tribe Tarot” is an effort to change that. and helping affirm our gay life. The cards are personal road maps to help our intuition show us how to realize the potential for abundance and happiness that is the birthright of each of us. Together the boldly and beautifully illustrated cards and the clearly written text work to help one manifest one's inner intuitive voice. Translating the meaning from the images helps one chart a fulfilling course through life. The book provides interesting variations on interpretation of the cards and on the relationship the cards draw on each other.
“The Cosmic Tribe Tarot” deck is a wonderful example of the capabilities of modern technology to create delightful images and beautiful settings. The images combine tastefully gay nude photography of both men and women with vividly colored computer effects. They appeal both with the beauty of human flesh, bearing almost nothing and revealing almost everything, “and with the psychedelic, mystical, mythical art to strike the spark of imagination and ignite the fire within: “Technopaganism.”
There are two major sets that make up the deck of 78 cards. The 22 Major Arcana represent archetypal forces. They spark us to think about the big questions: “Who am I?” and “Where am I going?” The 56 cards of the Minor Arcana represent the various people in our lives and roles which we all play daily. There are the four suits in the Minor Arcana: Swords, Wands, Cups and Disks. They represent Thinking, Living, Feeling and Participating. These help us conjure up answers to such questions as: “What's going on at work?” and “Am I communicating clearly?”
Distracting us from the minor obstacles we encounter and reminding us to focus on the more important life goals, Tarot cards affirm the potential of our daily routine. The Cosmic Tribe Tarot affirms the potential of our gay life.
